Tesla Model X
The Tesla Model X is Tesla’s interpretation of an SUV. With its falcon wing rear doors and smooth lines it certainly is a head turner. With a choice of five, six or seven seats it offer buyers options to suit their family or lifestyle.
The Tesla Model X also comes with the impressive performance expected from Tesla, slightly slower than the Model S. There are 3 different performance levels, the 75D, 100D and the insanely quick P100D which can hit 62mph in 2.9 seconds. Maximum range varies from 259 miles in the 75D to 351 miles for the 100D, the P100D sitting in the middle.
The Tesla Model X is very well equipped which is great news as the options packages are expensive. For example the enhanced autopilot option is £6,800.
Prices start at £89,990 for the Long Range and £110,990 for the Plaid Model which is expensive compared to combustion powered vehicles. However, this is a game changing vehicle with leading edge technology and carries a status other cars do not have.

Tom Bauer –
We have had a Model X (the unusual 90D somewhere inbetween the 75D and the 100D) for 4 years now. It is a great car to drive, smooth and comfortable. The unusual rear doors raise eyebrows and make people smile wherever you go and before anyone asks – they really don’t take up any more room than a normal door by opening almost directly upwards. Range is constantly improving with a solid 200 miles however you drive and more if you are careful. That almost always gets you to your destination or a supercharger unless you are really out in the wilds. The key downsides are that it is a huge car and not really made for UK roads or parking spaces. This is nothing any large SUV owner doesn’t have to deal with but it has caused me some frustration and it really isn’t the right car for nipping about town! The only other thing that I would have wanted is the option for a roofbox for long trips but the car is big enough to fit almost everything inside.
If you are looking for a big SUV that drives smoothly and fast AND is completely electric – this is it.
